6 year Anniversary

For our 6 year Anniversary I decided to drag my work-a-holic husband to California for the weekend. My mom was kind enough to watch all of the kids for us so we could actually spend some quality "alone" time together. Too bad Thad's phone (his baby) had to come with us :-)
We stayed at the Marriott Coronado Island Resort, courtesy of Price line :-)
It was so nice to just sit back and relax and not have anything to do or anywhere to be. We spent one day at the beach, went to Kono's (our favorite breakfast place), lay around by the pool sipping daiquiri's and rented a powerboat to cruise the bay in and spent a fortune at a steak house the concierge recommended. I do have to say my Kobe beef burger was money well spent!!!
Some how with all the picture taking I did, Thad and I never actually ended up in any pictures together :-(

Dance and milestones

In August Jacey started dance and tumbling. This is her first year doing anything like this. The only "classes" she's ever taken are swim lessons. She is ALWAYS dancing around the house so I figured she might as well take some classes. She was a little nervous at first but now she LOVES it.

Camden at 2 months:
12.5lbs
23.5 inches long
Smiles all the time!!!!!!
Sleeps 10-12 hours every night
Loves to lay on his mat and stare up at his toys
(Camden and Grandpa Huffaker)
Jacey just loves her baby brother. She is such a good helper!!!!

All ready to go to church :-)

Happy Birthday Part 2

Gina and I decided to have a combined birthday party this year for Keely and Blaine since their birthday's are so close together. We were originally going to borrow a "bouncer" from one of my friends and then just do cake and ice cream after they were done playing. The day of the party, I found out the bouncer we were going to borrow was broken. Needless to say Gina and I were in a bit of a panic since we had several 2year olds coming over and nothing to entertain them with. We decided to go ahead and rent one.

If we had know that a huge thunderstorm was going to be rolling in right smack dab in the middle of our party we obviously would have made a different choice. Oh well. The kids had a blast playing in the rain. The funniest thing though was that Keely and Blaine wanted absolutely nothing to do with the bouncer. They didn't even go on it once. At least the other kids had fun .

Jackson borrowed his parents popcorn maker and the kids LOVED it!!!!

Baby sitting on the bouncer :-)
Keely was so excited to blow out her candles. Blaine...not so much :-)
Gina made them each their own cakes
Ready, set, blow!!!!
Delicately removing the candles, lol.
Hmm. I think I'll take just a tiny taste.
Okay, maybe one more lick.

Okay, now a bite.
Mmm, almost as good as the cupcakes!!!
Jackson had to show her how it was done.

Opening presents. Ooooh, more shoes. Yea!!!
Oh boy, what is this????
Yeah, my very own dolly. No more stealing Jacey's :-)
Oooh another movie.

When she opened this she broke out in song "Dora, Dora, Dora the explora". So cute.
Her favorite gift was the stroller Gina got her for her dolly. All of the kids were fighting over it, even the boys :-)
Here goes the little Mommy.
Pooped out after a long day.
The closest Keely got to going in the bouncer.

A few more tidbits I forgot to write in the first birthday post:
Keely is 35" tall and although she's got some chubbs she is soooo strong.
I'll find her trying to lift the heaviest things sometimes.
Keely is little miss independent. She will not let me do anything for her. Her favorite phrase right now is "NO HELP Mommy, No Help". She gets mad when I try and help her.
Usually this pertains to buckling her own car seat and getting dressed/putting on her own shoes. She can do it by herself and gets soooo mad when I try and help her. If I'm in a hurry it about drives me insane to have to sit there and wait for her to take her sweet old time. If I do it for her anyway she will throw a fit the whole car ride. So not fun. A few more Keelyism's are "What happened?" Anytime someone is crying (especially at church) she asks what happened, over and over and over.....
She also is constantly asking me "What's that???" I'm trying really hard to just find it cute and not get annoyed at it being asked for the 100th time :-)
We finally got her down to only having her "binky" at nap & bedtime. That was a huge feat in itself. I'll have to work on removing it permanently. Now that it's not in her mouth 24/7 she's talking a lot more. Yeah!!!!
I think she is ready to be potty trained. I'm just not ready to do it :-) She tells me all the time she has to go potty. The problem is, she'll pee her diaper, take it off and then hop on the toilet. She's got it just a tad bit backwards. This is making for lots of waisted diapers :-(

Happy Birthday Keely-Part 1

WARNING-Picture overload!!!!!
There were so many cute pictures I just couldn't pick :-)

Keely turned 2 on Aug. 13th. I can't believe how big she is getting. She's still my little chunkers but she's finally starting to thin out a tiny bit thanks to her ever growing height.
At her two month checkup she was 33lbs. I get my workouts just lifting her up and down :-)
Keely is such a little snuggle bug. She loves to cuddle and has no shortage of hugs and kisses to give. She LOVES Barney. She MUST watch it on a daily basis. She also loves the "I Love You" song. Anytime it comes on she will come sit on my lap and sing it and when it gets to the part that says "With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you" she will wrap her arms around my neck, give me a great big hug and then a big wet sloppy kiss on the cheek. It is the cutest thing ever.
It's a good thing she's so dang cute because she is going through the terrible 2'sx100. She definitely knows the word no and has no problem using it. In every sentence!!!!
Her temper tantrums are quite loud which does not make for fun trips anywhere, especially the library :-) Keely absolutely loves her big sister, even though they fight like cats and dogs. If Jacey goes anywhere without her Keely just bawls. I dropped Jacey off at dance one night and Keely went absolutely berserk. Everyone was looking at me like "what is wrong with your child". She kept screaming "Jacey, Jacey, Jacey...."

She loves to read books and is constantly bringing me a book to read her. She loves it when Grandpa Mason comes over because he will read to her all night.
She also loves her Grandma and Grandpa Skousen. She thinks my Dad is a big teddy bear and loves to run up and hug him.
Because Blaine and Keely's birthday's are so close together Gina and I decided to do a combined birthday party this year (that post to come later). So for her actual birthday we decided to take the girls to Chuck-E-Cheese. We've never been there so it was a first for all of us. The girls just loved it. The pizza was horrible and if I ever went again I'd make sure to eat first. Keely had such a blast and was very sad when it was time to go.

Licking the bowl

Chuck-E-Cheese

Keely spent most of the night on this slide which was nice since it didn't cost anything :-)

Keely was so excited to ride the Barney ride
Did I mention she's obsessed with Barney?
This has to be my favorite picture out of all of these

So excited just looking at the fun games
Go Jacey, go!!!

Helping Mara finish off her pasta salad
She was obsessed with this game even though she wasn't actually playing it

So excited to blow out her candle
And there she goes...
Yummy, time to devour the cupcake!

Good right down to the last lick :-)

Keely was so funny opening her presents. She wouldn't just rip them open she had to delicately open them. Jacey was just dying to yank the wrapping paper off for her.

I'm not sure what this crazy face was all about :-)
This face was much better :-)

She loved her Dora book. When she opened this she started singing "Dora, Dora, Dora..."
She is obsessed with phones. This was a little music player but she managed to turn it into a phone, lol.
