Photo Shoot

I had the girls pictures taken to celebrate Spring/Easter/Jacey turning 4....
Crystal did such a great job on these pictures. I'm always impressed with anyone that can take pictures of my cranky kids and still have them turn out sooo cute. Thanks Crystal.

Keely does not like to smile on cue. This first picture is my absolute favorite of her because it captures the look she gives me on a daily basis :-)
Jacey was such a good little helper, always trying to make Keely smile.
Another classic Keely expression

Still warming up to having her picture taken.

Little Miss Sassy :-)

Wow, one where she's actually smiling. Probably because she's chasing after Mara's dog.

She'd had enough so she just plopped down in the middle of the side walk. What you don't see is her kicking her feet and then her nice tantrum.

Enough Said :-)

Yea, another smile :-)

Utah trip/Spring Break

I've been waiting, and waiting, and waiting (hint, hint) for my dear sisters to give me copies of pictures from our Utah trip. I took my camera but neglected to take any photo's :-( I guess I'll just have to do a post with the 1 picture I did take :-)

My sister Delaina was going to be blessing her baby on March 14th so we decided to go up for that and spend spring break in Utah with them. It was quite the eventful trip.
Thad did not want to take off any time from work (heaven forbid) and I was not about to make that long drive by myself with the kids so we came up with a compromise (kind of). Thad would drive us up, fly home the next day and then fly back to drive us home. That's Thad for you.
Neither of us wanted to drive 10+ hours straight so we decided to stay the night in Vegas and drive the rest of the way Saturday. With Thad going 90+ miles an hour the entire way we were going to get to Vegas in record time, that is until we hit the dang Dam. Holy cow!!!! We literally sat in our car for almost 2 hours not moving more than an inch at a time. All so that they could look into our windows and see if we were "illegal". So much for getting to Vegas early :-(

We finally got there around 9:00 (AZ time) and were so hungry that we went straight to the buffet first and then the hotel. Thad insisted we go to the buffet at the Bellagio. I don't mind spending money on good food but that was not my idea of good food. I have to admit that it also bugs me just a "tiny" bit that Thad will spend $75 on a dang buffet but won't spend 2 cents on something we really need (that's another issue entirely).

Once we finally got checked into the hotel (Treasure Island) and got to our room it was almost midnight. I was pooped and ready for bed. Unfortunately Keely and Thad weren't. Thad wanted to go walk around and see everything so he left me with the kids. Keely finally fell asleep around 1:30 a.m but she was sleeping at the edge of the bed with just my arm keeping her from falling off. I didn't dare move for fear she'd wake up, so there I lay, waiting for Thad to come back and move her to the other bed. At 3:00 Keely tried to roll off the bed so I grabbed her which woke her up. While trying to calm her down Jacey woke up, got confused and fell off the other side of the bed. So now I have two screaming kids and no husband. Aggghhhhh!!!!!
Needless to say he got a lovely text message from me at this time. When he did stroll back in at 3:30 a.m. the kids where finally back to sleep and although steam was still coming out of my ears I just ignored him.

Due to the late night we didn't end up leaving Vegas until 11:00. Normally that would have been okay, we'd still have ended up in Orem by 3 or 4:00. However, by the time we hit Cedar City a huge snow storm rolled in and we were stuck right smack in the middle of it. The roads got so bad we couldn't see more than a few feet in front of us. The windshield kept icing up so Thad would have to pull off the road every 5-10 minutes to wipe them off with baby wipes (that's all we had). Our plan was to stop in Beaver on the way to get some squeaky cheese. We were only able to drive 25-30 mph so it took forever to get to Beaver. I just assumed since the roads were so bad we would just skip Beaver and keep going. No such luck. Thad didn't care if we got stuck in Beaver as long as he got his cheese. Needless to say we were the only ones in the parking lot. When Thad walked in they took one look at him and said "Let me guess, you are from Arizona". Hmm, I wonder if the shorts and flip flops gave it away :-) My parents had almost caught up to us (driving straight from AZ) by this time so we stopped again in Fillmore and waited for them. I have never been so excited to get to Orem in my entire life. It took us over 8 hours to get there. Sooooo not fun.

Thad was supposed to fly back to AZ Monday morning but just couldn't stop answering his dang phone (all emergencies of course) so he changed his flight and flew back home on Sunday. Don't get me wrong, I loved spending the week in Utah with all of my siblings and parents but an entire week of taking care of the kids by myself was enough to kill me off. We took the kids to Thanksgiving point while we were there and Jacey and Keely loved seeing all the animals. Their favorite of course was the pony rides. They would have ridden all day if I'd let them. Some day I'll post those cute pictures :-)
Thad, Jackson and Jeff all flew back in on Friday night so we picked our hubbies up from the airport and went to dinner. Charisse and Jeff were able to get a discount at the Melting Pot so that's where we went. I've never been there before and I probably wouldn't go there again but it was definitely interesting. The sauces were amazing and the dessert was the best part of course. Way to pricey for the small amount of actual food we got. It was fun to be there with everyone though.
We drove home with Gina and Jackson on Saturday and stayed the night in Page. Luckily the drive back was way more uneventful than the trip up :-) I have decided that I will not be making any more road trips until after I've had this baby!!!!!!

(We had to pull over on the way home to change a lovely diaper. We got to see the cutest baby deers along the side of the road.)

Lehi Days

Every year "Lehi" has what's known as Lehi Days. It's a rodeo/bbq with lot's of events to watch and activities for the kiddos. We try and take the kids every year.

Grandpa Mason rode Thad's quad down to the church to meet up with us and Keely had fun going for a little ride with him.

The girls' favorite activity was riding the ponies.

Jacey didn't want anything to do with the baby chicks at first but quickly changed her mind.

18 month's and counting...

My little Keely Weely turned 18 months old in February. I can't believe how fast time is flying and how much she is growing up. She is such a little fireball of energy.
18 month stats:
Weight: 32lbs-97th percentile
Height: 35"-97th percentile
(No surprises there)

She's not a talker yet but her favorite words are: More, No, BaBa (which is her word for any kind of drink), baby, BB (which means either Binky or Blankie) and of course Dada and Mama. Hopefully one of these days she'll expand her vocabulary :-)
She recently figured out how to open doors which is not a good thing. Jacey definitely does not like this because Keely can now walk freely into her room at anytime :-) I keep pointing out to Jacey that any day now they will be sharing a room, that doesn't matter to her.
We've tried nursery a few times and she does not like it but I think it's mainly because she's having a lot of separation anxiety lately, especially with Thad. If he is home, she has to be clinging to his side 24/7. She is definitely a Daddy's girl :-)

Valentines Day

Thad and I celebrated Valentine's this year by doing dinner and a movie again. Since I planned it all I chose my favorite restaurant, Claim Jumpers. They have the best stuffed baked potato w/homemade Alfredo sauce I have ever had. I could have it every day. Thad decided to take advantage of the holiday and order steak and lobster. The price wouldn't have hurt so bad if he hadn't downed the entire meal in about 5 minutes.
After dinner we went and saw the movie Valentine's Day. My expectations were really low so I was pleasantly surprised. We both thought it was funny.
On Sunday Thad surprised me with a dozen red roses and his intentions were to have breakfast made before I got up. Unfortunately, I got up, fed and bathed the kids before he ever woke up. Needless to say I had cereal for breakfast :-)

I couldn't resist taking pictures of my sweet Valentine in her new outfit and hat.
Keely had one too but I couldn't snag her fast enough for pictures.

Super Bowl Sunday

I'm not a fan of football but knowing that I wouldn't be able to get out of watching the Super Bowl I thought I'd might as well make the best of it.
Mara came over and brought a VERY large shirt with her for Jacey to wear. Jacey thought it was her new PJ's, lol.

Mara helped Jacey make pizza's and I made WAY too many other little snacks that lasted us the rest of the week. Jacey had so much fun making her on pizza.

Shoe Fetish

Keely is obsessed with shoes. Her favorites are Jacey's princess shoes but if she can't find those she'll settle for Mommy's shoes or any other shoes she can find. She'll be wearing shoes and decide she needs more on top of the ones she's wearing. She gets quite upset when then don't fit.
I am always amazed at how well she can run in these high heels. She runs all over the house in them and they never fall off. As you can see by the pictures below, she's not picky about the colors or whether or not they are on the right foot :-)
